Non-surgical nose job or non-surgical rhinoplasty describes a treatment using injectable fillers and botulinum toxin to restore a more proportional look to your nose.
The advantage of this approach is, that the results can be seen by the patient immediately, with minimal down time and recovery.
The ideal patients for a non-surgical nose job are patients who are seeking corrections of small dents, hollows or indentations. Small imperfections of a previously performed rhinoplasty can sometimes be corrected avoiding a secondary revision rhinoplasty. Patients with a low nasal bridge, commonly seen in the Asian and Afro-American population, are often seeking augmentation of the nasal dorsum.A non-surgical rhinoplasty is often a feasible method to gain sufficient projection without undergoing a surgical rhinoplasty. A dorsal hump can also be blended in with a non-surgical rhinoplasty. However, not every patient is a good candidate for a non-surgical nose job. A non-surgical rhinoplasty has limitations. The injected filler will always add volume to a patient’s nose. For a patient seeking a smaller, narrower nose and nasal tip, a non-surgical nose job is not the appropriate procedure. These patients are better served with a surgical rhinoplasty.
Patients looking for more involved changes, like changing the type of appearance in a more compelling way are not good candidates for a non-surgical rhinoplasty. These patients are good candidates for a surgical correction of their nose, or a profileplasty.
Although the procedure itself may appear straight forward and easy, a thorough understanding of the nasal and surgical anatomy of the nose is crucial. Especially if the patient has already had surgery to his/her nose before. Vascular compromise leading to skin necrosis (skin death due to ischemia) is a dreaded risk of a non-surgical nose job. Ischemia can occur either from filler material getting into the blood vessels, or from filler material pushing on blood vessels under the skin. Severe complications are very rare. However, there are vascular connections to nearby important anatomical structures that can be affected. Thankfully, vascular compromise is exceedingly rare, and when treated promptly, and correctly, will resolve without long-term consequences. If complications occur, they need to be attended swiftly and expertly. If not treated appropriately, long-term consequences can occur. Choosing a physician who is well trained, competent, approachable, and responsive to you and your concerns is important.
During your consultation, Dr Knoll will carefully listen to your concerns, examine you and thoroughly analyze your facial features. She will discuss with you, if you are a good candidate for a non-surgical nose job. Dr Knoll will explain to you realistic expectations, obtainable results, potential risks and benefits associated with a non-surgical rhinoplasty. We understand that it can be impractical for some of our out of town/ international patients to travel to Frankfurt for an initial consultation. For this reason, Dr. Knoll offers online consultations. By submitting a series of photographs, information about your desired outcome, and a little about yourself, we can start to determine if you are a good candidate. Though a virtual consultation starts the conversation, it does have it’s limitations and does not replace the need to be seen in person for a traditional consultation to finalize plans for a procedure. If you wish to have additional information or would like to schedule a consultation please contact the office of Dr Bianca Knoll, we will be happy to assist you.
